Why does not the figure match data in the table？

The slope 1 in per 10 -ft run is for linear portion ( btw point D and E) . The proposed tank bottom configuration btw Elev 0.0 and Point D is parabolic.
The elev. at pt D is 2.0 ft . Add 6 in . ( slope 1 in per 10 -ft run ) and get 2.5 ft.
