hello all,
? am (very)new in pro/mechanica and i must design an solve a gantry grane with 1 ton capacity with pro mechanica. And i don know how to do it !!
How can I find the DIMENSIONS in order to create a safe constraction ?
how to apply the load ?
how can i calculate the bolts ?
a static analysis is enough ?

if anyone can help me i will be grateful.
thank you in advance.

Ummmm...have you ever done a static analysis using cut and sum method and method of sections before? Also do you understand failure theories? Because, ProM is GIGO and you will have to do the hand calcs to correlate.

I have not do any static analysis again and does not know those methods i am very new in pro/mechanica. nor the failure theories know . I know that the mechanica einai GIGO and probably will be the next victim. could you please help me in order to get an edge?

Thank you for your concern

Hi Opp04, I suggest that you hire a Structural or Mechanical Engineer who knows how to do this analysis. If you are in the US, you can hire a Professional Engineer to do this kind of work. ProM is a tool and if you don’t understand static and dynamic theories ProM’s results are useless.

hello Twoballcane,
is not that I do not understand static and dynamic theories of ProM's. Just I do not know how to begin. is very important to do this, could you tell me some things on top. and then see. Thank you very much really appreciate your help greatly.

"I have not do any static analysis again and does not know those methods i am very new in pro/mechanica. nor the failure theories know ." From this response I gather that you have absolutly no knowledge of statics or strength of materials. I suggest that you are not qualified to do the analysis without the assistance of a qualified individual. Any help you recieve here would not be sufficient, you should take some classes in statics and strength of materials.
