How to simulations dynamic load for tensile test???

Hey guys,

I have a problem about the run Abaqus dynamic load for the tensile test.

Speciment has stretched in first element area(input velocity 1000 mm/s) and necking has not occured in gatelenght (input velocity 0.01-100 mm/s)

I use johnson cook model in plastic property and dynamic explicit mode.

Have you tried a refined mesh?

Maybe you have to add a small imperfection. Your part might be too perfect compared to a real part.

I had similar problems once. My material density was off by a factor 1000. Could it be that?
