Generally I save the part file with part name and part no. (eg. Shaft (01-23-456)). So in the assembly part list, the part name displays as 'Shaft (01-23-456)'.
I would like to display the part name and part no. separately in the corresponding cell of partlist, in the assembly drafting.
Is there any method to do that?

Thanks.

what version of NX are you on ?
are you on Teamcenter?

sluzzer,

You could try this:

1) Save you part file with "01-23-456" as the file name.
2) In this file create a custom property called what ever you like, for this example i'll use "DESCRIPTION" and enter "SHAFT" in this custom property.
3) Save this file and Use this file in an assembly.
4) In this assembly file right click in the assembly navigator and go to "Properties" and then the "Column" tab. In the field listed "Attribute" enter the same name of the custom property you used in step 2) and hit "create" button and then "OK" to close this dialog.
5) Now you'll have a new column in the assembly navigator with the info you desire.

Thankyou Hercalloy :)

You're welcome. :)

Just note... that is but one way to do it (that i listed). If you poke around with my leads.. you'll see there is many ways to do things so you may find ways to do it more to your liking. :)

@HercalloY
In the assembly drafting environment, in the properties window, I couldn't find the "column" tab :( please explain.

If you're in Drafting then it appears that you're not talking about the Assembly Navigator but rather the Parts List note. If so, and the note already exists. select just the column of the Parts List next to which you wish to add the new column, press MB3, select 'Insert' and then the appropriate location. Now select just this new column, press MB3, select 'Style' and then the 'Columns' tab. Then select the icon to the Right of the 'Attribute Name' entry field and you'll get a list of all of the items available to you to define the contents of this new Parts List column.
