When I designed torsion springs, we first determined spring parameters using special spring design software before making solid models.
With a bit of layout work, it is possible to create models that update w.r.t. physical parameters like pitch, wire size, etc. I wouldn't go through the pain of putting in the entire mathematical model for rate, etc. as I prefer to leave that to more capable software.
I have two spring models posted on my website:
<File "TorsionSpringByTheTick.zip" is a straight torsion spring.
In "Hinge.zip" there is a barrel-shaped torsion spring.
Notice that both of these models make use of many layout sketches to control parameters before any solid features are created.

Using Wire Diameter and pitch these can be controlled with a helix (pitch) and a profile (WIre Diameter).
Spring rate - There isn't anything for that in SW that I am aware of.

your going to have to draw a circle, this will be the ID or OD of the spring.
insert > curve > helix/spiral
then draw another circle at the beginning of the helix and make a sweep boss/base.
this circle will be the wire diameter.
you can now add the hooks of the springs and whatever else.
you will have a couple different choices on how to make the helix/spiral, choose whatever works for you. you might want to start the helix/spiral out at 0degrees to make it easier to sweep.
