Is there a way to measure the speed or the volume of cast iron flowing in a process for the scoria treatment? The iron is moved by a refractory rotor over an almost horizontal surface. The goal is to know the amount of liquid metal that can be moved depending of the characteristics of the rotor.

Any advice of how to solve this case would be appreciated.

Have you investigated computer simulation using software like MAGMA that was developed for the casting industry?

I am unable to visualise the problem. However, I would advise you to contact Prof Campbell from Birmingham Unversity UK, who has video x ray machine and he has conducted several studies on liquid metal flow.
