I have modelled a Beam and Car using Abaqus for impact analysis. During the analysis, the Car passes through (Penetrates) the beam without any impact. Can anyone please give me any valuable suggestions? Thanks in advance!

You have to define contact between the two components which are impacting/are in contact with each other. GO to interactions and define "General contact" or "Surface to surface" contact pair between vehicle and barrier.

Hi @NRP99, Thanks for your reply.

For your kind information, I have defined interactions as you mentioned. Still, there is no impact happening between the two elements. I have attached the *.cae file for your reference. Please check the files and offer your suggestions.

Thanks again!

Check the units. If your model is in millimeters, they are way off. You can find a helpful table with consistent units, for example in Simuleon’s blog post "Units in Abaqus".

thanks for sharing the file Balakumaran.
