Dear Memebers:

A conductivity analyzer indication of water quality located on the downstream low pressure steam condensate. First, I am not sure this conductivity measurement is contacting or inductive type. This analyzer installation on the P&ID seems dilemma for me.(Please see attached drawing)
1. Why do we have to put two gate valve on the two branch pipe cross this AE.
2. The analyzer installation in Case 1 & Case 2 is in case of the low pressure difference between this AE and
fluid can't sweep through.
So, could you please advise which expression for this kind of conductivity on P&Id is proper?

Thank you very much for your generously help.

It seems I post the wrong forum
I should move this post to the
Measurement & control instrumentation engineering Forum

Can anyone help me out?

Thank you.

The typical I&CS engineer needs some process data. I liked the second detail except that the pressure drop in the sketch looks marginal. Still, some of the conductivity detector and installation details require work with supplier data and process data. If a sample conditioning system is required for the conductivity probe; perhaps you could need another connection for the sample return. Some analyzer peddlers may help with suggestions even if multiple bidders are required to select the supplier.
