Dear STAAD.Pro experts!
I wonder if you could helpe me on defining of a complex cross section.
I'm trying to model a steel structure that is built up with welded steel plates as shown in the attached file.
I've tried "Section Wizard", but it didn't work!
I wonder if it's possible to find prismatic properties such Ax, Ix, Iy and Iz in AutoCAD then define a cross section in STAAD.Pro as prismatic sections with the corresponding Ax, Ix, Iy and Iz?
Please advise
Best regards
Bill

Yes, that's how I would do it. If I remember correctly, STAAD won't design a prismatic section. You could make it a general section but I believe there is more data to enter and I don't think I would trust it with design anyway.

I am late for this one. Could you try use autoCAD to crete it and check the region properties, you can get the area, Ix, Iy and C.G..
