Dear All,
I am quite new to continuum fracture mechanics and damage models in Abaqus.I have implemented simple ductile damage with steel material parameters, leading to a fracture at the end in Abaqus. But beside of that, I need to implement a local damage model based on this article:But not sure how to start with that in Abaqus, since in articles you may find only formulas!would be much appreciated if you help me how to implement local damage in Abaqus.

Kind Regards,
Paradise

You need Fortran subroutines to implement any user material models, including damage. It’s not an easy task but there are several examples in Abaqus documentation and research papers.
