Is it possible in the solidworks sketcher to draw hyperbolas, cubic, and other higher order polynomials without using splines?

You can do an elipse, but I'd bet it's not an exact, but an approximate elipse.
You're basically SOL with SolidWorks - as far as I know.
I'm sure there's something else out there that can do what you want at a fraction of the $$$.

I was aware of the ellipses, circles, parabolas, and splines. However, other curves have other properties such that aren't exactly duplicated by splines.

Not seeing the other functions on the toolbar I should have asked if it is possible to use any API features to generate non spline analytical curves.

You can create a curve through free points using Excel and the coordinate system. Is that what your looking for? I believe it still uses a spline to make it. You may try using 3D sketches also.
