Can anyone knows about how to dimension text in drawings?
Or does anyone know how to make text on surfaces?
I wanto to make text detailing drawings.
Thanks
Text on a surface is easy.
Click on the face where you want the text to be.
Goto Tools, Sketch Entity, Text.
Then type your text.
From there, you can cut or extrude, whatever you want.
Yes I know, but what about if I dont have an extruded face. I only want text on an unextruded surface.?
Something like layers but with the availability to dimension text height and width.
Text in SW is controlled by font format. You can control the height and width of the font by choosing the size 10,12,14 etc. in the properties of the text. I think this is what is referred to by “Twips”, this is the term of Font size when writing Code.
As for dimensioning Text in SW, You have (when you insert new text) a small center point show up at the lower left corner. There is where the text is controlled by a Dim..
If you really want better control over text check out SW01+ Pre-Release. They have done some awesome things with SW Text. I haven't played with that much so I can't comment too much on it, but I have seen it capabilities and you can really do some neat things with it.
I hope this helps you,
