How to Dimension Divots?

I'm having a disconnect today. Image you have a plate with a series of spherical divots (like little bowls) in a pattern. Would I dimension those using SR for spherical radius, or would I dimension them as a Diameter with Depth and Full Round?

Have you read faq731-376 to make the best use of these Forums?
 
How important is the exact depth of the SR? The best way is to ask the QC inspector how they are going to inspect it. It might be easier to inspect the true/actual diameter of the SR divot than to find the depth of a SR.
 
Our QC will use a laser scanner, so I'm not sure it matters too much Koda94. Depth is fairly critical due to it being a optical feature.

Sorry if this is obvious, but just so you know, it's written SØ (not SD). That's what Jim meant, but it's tricky to get that symbol here in a textual post.
But for your situation I'd use SR, since they're only partial spheres.

It sounds like the features need to be controlled more precisely than just their radius of curvature and possibly a depth from some implied location and orientation, so profile of a surface relative to the surface from which they should be located (either the one they're cut into or an opposing surface) seems like the best approach.

Jim, I've never seen "SD" in Y14.5. Is that a standard alternate practice?
