How to determine the relief rate of HX tube rupture scenario

Hi, everyone.
When the relieving fluid is liquid is it necessary to choose the smaller one from the calculated relief rate and the normal flowrate?

If I understand your question correctly, you select the "worst case" relieving scenario. You should also consider the other relief cases which may affect the selection of the PRV. ie., the case giving the smallest area may result in unstable PRV operation(eg. chattering). Please clarify your query.

Per ISO-4126, only the term Safety Valve is used regardless of application or design.
