Hi, Can someone assist with determining the wall thickness of a plain bearing (bushing)? The pin/bushing system is assembled with RC3 running fit. No hoop stress is present. I would like to know how I can determine the bushing wall thickness. Is there an equation that I can use?

What is the rpm of the shaft? Will there be oil/grease (hydrodynamic)? What temperature's will this be subject to?

Thick-walled bronze bushings feature a standard wall thickness between 0.0625 and 0.156 inches. thin-walled plastic bearing vs. thick-walled bronze bushing. Find out more about how plastic bushings can replace bronze bushings.
