Here's another UG gripe. I need to create several curves that are thru 2 points, but the endpoints have to be tangent to their adjacent surfaces. I'm looking for a command that is similar to "bridge curve", but specifying surfaces rather than curves to be tangent to.

I don't think 'bridge curve' or 'bridge' (free form surface - similar functionality to bridge curve) will let you specify 2 points that the curve (or surface) will pass through. It sounds like what you need to do is make a spline passing through your points then specify tangency at the end points.

Project curves onto the surfaces to which you want the bridge curves to be tangent or extract iso curves from the surfaces and use the iso curves to attach the bridge curves.

Typically, users only utilize surface or face edges for this type of bridge curve attachment, not the surface itself.

You can create lines tangent to lines and curves and splines. And you can create tangent surfaces to surfaces and faces. But I haven't ever seen where you can create a tangent line to a surface. One idea would be to create and associative section in the surface then create a tangent and extrude the line or what ever you want to do with it.

Since the latest trend seems to be resurrecting 2-3 month old threads....

NX5 will allow for Bridge Curves to be tangent to surfaces...for those that don't already know via the NX5 Beta Help that's available from GTAC's web site.

Right!NX5 will provide ability that can meet G1,G2 or G3 constraint between curve and surface. The inputs including: surface & surface, surface & curve.
