Respected ABAQUS users, I am doing cohesive zone modelling in ABAQUS for which I have made the one part and at the point of contact of two surface I just have made partition to define the traction sepration contact as if the two parts are connected to each other. How can I make the surfaces at the partition to define the contact?
Thanks for cooperation

You should use separate parts, otherwise, the mesh will be continuous and there will be no need for contact.

you mean that I need to make two parts? Here in this model just only one part is made, how he seperated the one part as during the simulation it debonds in to two according to ABAQUS documentation?
Thanks for cooperation

It's mostly a matter of how the nodes are connected. But this model also has the *DEBOND keyword to specify that the selected surfaces may separate.

So if this has "Debond" keyword then can you please tell me how I should proceed for it using ABAQUS? May I make element set, node set or geometry set along with which module is used to create the surfaces to execute debonding in the single part?
Thanks

This keyword requires two surfaces - main and secondary (just like in contact). Check the documentation chapter Analysis --> Analysis Techniques --> Special-Purpose Techniques --> Fracture Mechanics --> Crack Propagation Analysis (paragraph "Activating the Crack Propagation Capability in Abaqus/Standard").
