How to create embedded wire and solid for a complex 3d knit? The reason I would like to have the wire is to define the beam which would be embedded within the solid. The solid section is for contact interaction purposes. I have tried edge to edge and explicit analysis and both have failed.
When I create wire from solid, the solid is deleted, whereas if I use the wire to create a solid sweep, the wire is lost.
I need both of these features to be present simultaneously. My end goal to do a forming analysis of knitted fabric. I appreciate any help

You should create these two components as separate parts, put them in the right positions in assembly module and use embedded region constraint to connect them.
