What do we use to connect PVC & Steel pipes? Pipe expansion required? Would that effect the insulation? Can the transition be within the concrete (thrust block) from outside to inside the building? This application is for Chilled Water Supply and Return.

Thank you

You need a mechanical joint transition fitting. Measure the outside diameter of both pipes, then click the link below to find what you need. The fitting should not be installed IN the thrust block, and there are insulations that can be applied wet, that will dry around the fitting.

Bolted flanges have also been used. Flat face flanges with full face gaskets are recommended to minimize the PVC flange stresses.

I went to that link, I chose
Steel transition couplings. Am I right? Steve Braun, do you have any suggestions?

Thank you so much
