Hi,
I just imported a parasolid file into Patran but was unable to clean up the model using geometry->edit->feature because the feature list is empty.
I am unable to just import the model as a UG file because the UG version i'm using is NX2 while i think Patran 2003r1 only support up to NX1 or V18.
Is there any other way I can simplify the model?

Another qn is that if I have a box with a cover attached by means of screws, what is the best way to model it? By using common nodes, creating a rigid element between the nodes where the screws are supposed to be or by creating spring elements where the screws are supposed to be?

Thanks & Regards.

Can't answer part 1, but I can give an opinion on part 2. It depends on how stiff the screws are relative to the surrounding structure. If you anticipate bending of the screw, model with springs. If the screw can be considered very stiff, I don't think you'd be far off using RBE2's.
