I need to design a lifting mechanism to lift a cover on a new design of one of our machines. The problem is I need to lift slightly further than a cylinder would travel due to space constraints. I have the linkage laid out, but I'm not sure how to calculate the force required from the cylinder. I can email a diagram of this to anyone who knows how to calculate it.
Thanks,
Jay Andrews

Send it, I will see what I can do, although it sounds pretty straigh forward, I would appreciate a little more info.
