Hi
i am using ansys multi physics v10.
i am working on a simple cantilever beam problem.
i wish to apply a load on the end of the beam to make the beam oscillate in a sinusoidal wave from with constant amplitude .

i assume the problem i a harmonic one.

question
how can i apply a positive tension and compressive negative load to make the beam oscillate in a sinusoid wave form
basicall the stress ratio R= -1 (fmin/fmax)
can anyone suggest anything
thanks

You need to apply your loads for harmonic analysis in the following manner:

/solu
f,,,, !force, displacement, pressure, whatever load fluctuates
kbc,1 !stepped loading

hi Stingmaker
thanks for the reply
can you be a little more specific in you response.
its a force i am using to oscillate the beam. i assume that i dont need to specify displacement correct

do you have an apdl solution file for this?
thanks
