I need to size a servo motor for a belt-driven actuator that will be pushing against 1500N external force in a horizontal position. I calculated the load inertia of the brackets that are mounted on the carriage. But I am uncertain as how to account for this external force in my inertia ratio calculations.

Imposter666,

If this is radial force on the shaft, your motor specifications should specify something.
