I have an existing steel beam analyzed using LRFD for additional dead load. I used Risa3d and unity ratio is 1.2 for bending check. Say I already sharpened the pencil as far loading is concerned.

Personally, I do not go over at all. Maybe I am jaded by all the $#!+ construction I have seen, as I have had the pleasure of inspecting mine (and others) designs, but I feel like that sometimes the standard factors of safety just don't account for stupid. I've actually started writing out all the nonsense I've witnessed, but decided the list would just get too long - and on sub-threshold and single family construction, where inspections are sparse to none, its worse still.
