Hi :)

I am looking at a tool spring from special spring with very high compression force 20000 N diameter 32 length 50. I have got a advice from a reseller that i should have a hard washer so the spring do not dig in to the material. The spring only have a stroke length on 5 mm.

How hard should the washer be? Any suitable materials?

Kindly

Paul

With steel on steel wear surfaces you'll typically want the hardness of the two surfaces to be the same.

Yes, at least as hard as the spring.
Which is usually very hard.
And thick enough to assure no distortion even at full compression of the spring.
