Hi All,

I need to strengthen my fundas.As a part of that i would like to know "how a thread functions in case of fasteners"? that is how is the nut locked inside the thread without getting rolled down. or how it is seated in the thread of the bolt ? could any one please explain me ?

in catia CAD it's simplified, as you normally don't need such precision, but feel free to make the parts yourself, if you want to.

you need to expand on your question, as it's not obvious what exactly do you want.

Thanks for your interest! What i am looking for is not CATIA ! But its physical ! i want to know how the nut gets seated in the bolt thread without getting loosened? hope itis clear now. i want to know how the interference occurs between the threads?

Regardless, the answer to your question is the basic mechanism most commonly used to produce a locking effect in screw threads is prevailing friction at the thread flank contacts. The prevailing friction is typically produced using two approaches- strain due to axial preload produced on the male fastener body from torquing, or controlled interference created between the mating screw thread flanks at installation.
