How does this detail look for concrete beam to pier?

Hey Guys,

I have a detail for a concrete beam to pier connection. Could you guys please take a quick look and let me know if you're seeing any problems with this? Haven't done a ton of concrete beams before this. Notably for the clear distances, this beam is underground.

The construction joint should be horizontal . Is there any specific reason for vertical CJ?..
