Hi,

Do all case manufacturers design their own edging to encase their seal with which to close a case (as in a large box to put stuff in). I can find a billion companies that make seals and gaskets and a million companies that make latches. What about the aluminum frame that protects the plastic/composite edges and sealing surfaces of the case? Any ideas where I can have this out sourced? Or am I going to have to design it myself and have a metal fabricator make it?

Thanks for any help - Barry

A friend of mine who didnt want his goods tampered with used an aluminium box and welded it closed. Fully ealed. When it arrived he gladly cut it open for customs. Nothing missing or tampered with during the journey.

Thanks. We certainly don't want a complete solution. Without getting into specifics, part of what we are doing is researching new technologies with materials (that's what we do). In the case, we are making the body of the case with this technology. However, we'd rather not have to deal with making the seal or latches (latches aren't a problem. They're easy to find).

In that case look for extruded aluminum or plastic shapes that will hold the seal and rivet/otherwise attach to your case.
