How Do I Deal With "Child Of Frozen"?

I have an assembly and the top component is frozen adn all other components have a status of "Child of Frozen". It was originally imported from NX and then frozen so I could work with it. Now I want to redefine the components so they are referenced properly, but I do not know how to deal with this "Child of Frozen" business.
