Can someone point me to where I can find a detailed description on how to configure a general table.

I am looking to make a duplicate of a design table. I was in training for SW and he showed this to me real fast. At the time it seemed like no problem, but now when I try to do what he showed me, nothing is working at all.

I can't even get the table to show one dimension in it...

I've googled the web, but can't find anything detailed enough to walk me through it.

any help is highly appreciated.

What would the purpose be for the duplicate BOM in a General Table?

To place multiple BOMs on a drawing sheet just repeat the process of placing the first BOM.
i.e. Select a view, Insert > Table > BOM, choose options, then click the tick.

trulyshy,

Are you trying to do this using the SolidWorks API?

TateJ ... A General Table is similar to adding an Excel spreadsheet into a drawing. It is just a collection of cells into which you can place whatever data needed. Check the Help files.

Oh... I assumed we were talking about some sort of drafting term that I hadn't heard of. Never occured to me that GENERAL TABLE was a SolidWorks term.

As they say... You know what happens when you assume... You make an ass out of yourself & Uma Therman

trulyshy ... ??? Sorry, I was heavily involved with some BOMs when I first posted, so got mixed up with the DT's you were talking about. So ... try again;

What are you trying to achieve by duplicating a Design Table in a General Table?

Are you trying to create a table of dimensions for a drawing?
