How do I turn a fillet into part?

I have two separate oddly shaped parts in an assembly. The intersection of the two independent parts needs to be filleted. Since you can't fillet in an assy I need to have that fillet as a piece of one of the parts or a completely separate part that I can import into one of the parts. I did a join just to create the fillet, but now I need to somehow dissolve the association of the fillet with one of the parts and still keep its shape so that it can be become a piece of part A without any reference to part B. How do I do this? I should mention it would take me many, many hours to the shape of this fillet with lofts.

Could you create a new part in the assy, create surfaces from the existing faces; then use the fillet tool on the surfaces.
Once you have the fillet surface you should be able to create a solid.

An option is to open the part that you want to have the fillet geometry, then "Insert//Part" and position the second part where needed, then build your fillet geometry around it.

Thanks for the suggestions. The part I am trying to make is the intersection of a aircraft engine nacelle to a wing. So the weld bead won't work. The nacelle skin will have to have the fillet shape molded into it so that when it is installed it is a smooth aerodynamic transition to the wing.

I did it pretty much the way CBL just suggested.
It was a neat little exercise that made me feel good about myself.

It looks like this might work. Thanks much.

Why don't you delete all the surfaces around the fillet, then Thicken the fillet and save it off as a new name?

3 steps

1) make fillet
2) Delete surrounding surfaces
3) Thicken surface

And you do it all in a part.
