How can I measure the dimensions of STEP file?

what the hell!!!!

If you need to know one or two dimensions, mesure them in model (Analysis>measure>...)
or
create a drawing by placing views and create dimensions.

Friend,
I am talking about STP file. Not pro E file.
We mainly convert Pro E file into STP file so that anybody can see it just by using STP viewer.
But in that viewer there is no provision for measuring the dimensions of the product.

How to do it??

Regards,
EagleEye

One can open STP file in pro-E and create drawing too

Dear S_pme20
STP file is not accessible in Pro E....

if it is....then tell me hin which pro E vision...

Regards,
EagleEye

Any version of pro-E will open STP file.
In OPEN dialogue box, select file type as STP/STEP or All files.

I THINK YOU ALL ARE MAKING A BIG CONFUSION ABOUT THIS
SUBJET.
STEP AND IGES FILES ARE GENERIC TRANSLATION FILES, AND ARE
THE ONLY TRANSLATION FILES THAT ALL CAD SYSTEMS CAN READ
WITHOUT ANY ADITIONAL LICENCES.
IF YOU OPEN A STEP FILE WITH PROE, IT DOESN'T MATHER WHAT
VERSION, IT BECOMES A PROE FILE, THAN YOU CAN MAKE WHAT
EVER YOU WANT WITH IT.

Thank You Guys,

I Got it.

Thanks for your help.

EagleEye

you can create a drawing of it too and use the detail drawing functions to obtain proper dimensions.
