I could only find the following definitions.

PDS - Partitioned Dataset

PDS - Planetary Data System

PDS - Premise Distribution System

I believe they call it cutbacks in order to return to profitability. It would be interesting to know if they're cutting management or technical personel. Sadly, I fear that the brunt of the reduction in force will be among those directly serving customers, techical personel, and sales (in that order) without any meaningful consolitation of mid and upper management.
