I am wanting to know if i include my 500 hose in the calculations if i am going to be using a fire pump and tank. i am just running a calc to make sure what the system demand is. I don't want to give the pump guy a false figure. I know we will need a tank on this project and from what i understand when you have a tank you don't need to add the hose duration to your calculations. but, since i don't have the tank yet do I add the 500 hose to my calcs? i dont want to tell him i have a demand of 1800 gpm when it could be a smaller pump at 1300 gpm. Please advise.

If there is no way to pull hose flow from your tank, then you don't include it. For example, do you have hydrants that are downstream of your tank? If you have the hydrants, or other means for the fire department to pull hose flow then include it.
