Good morning,
I am studying how saddles of horizontal vessel work against seismic force and I would ask you something about that.
If we have 2 saddles with base rectangular plate...who takes the shear force due to longitudinal seismic force?
The base plate saddles are hortogonal to longitudinal force direction.

Thank you very much for answers

"...who takes the shear force due to longitudinal seismic force?" You need to apply better description by that sentence because I have no idea as to its meaning when using the word "who".

See Pressure Vessel Design Manual, by Dennis Moss

extragol1A, difficult to understand your question but longitudinal loads of whatever source are generally considered to be resisted by a single saddle.

Regards,

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand
