I've searched this forum and have not found any specific answers regarding lateral deflection limits (caissons in utilities). I have seen multiple standards for maximum lateral deflection (such as 2%xD (service) or 5%xD (ultimate), 3/4", 1.5", 4", etc. Does anyone have any suggestions for maximum deflection in caissons?

There is no maximum lateral deflection criteria that everyone follows. Its all project specific. Saying that I typically see half an inch and sometimes an inch.

Note it also has to be size dependent. A 300mm dia pile deflection should be a lot less than a 1.2m dia pile deflection.
