Hi

I am new to this forum, however have been actively reading through the posts over the years. I am modelling a 4 storey masonry shear wall building and getting large lateral reaction forces under my wall restraints. The lateral reactions are about 15% of the gravity loads.

Is it normal to get these sorts of values for x and y reactions under pure dead load? What may be the reasoning behind this?

Thank you

But the reactions all cancel out, right?

I wonder if you might have a problem with the wall mesh. Or, the supports of the walls aren't continuous along the base of the wall.
