Has anybody done any work on finite element modeling of hooves?.
I have done some work on the capsule but am now extending it to the internal structure as well.

Yes, a bit as been done. I suggest you go to Medline - US Library of Medicine and query. There have been a few papers in the Equine Veterinary Journal in recent years.
I hope you know the detailed anatomy very well. T'aint no cinch!
