Hi,

How do i group holes in a hole table by type and not just size?

Currently when i use the hole table command it will group different holes that happen to be the same diameter together.
For instance if i have a 4.2mm clearance hole and an M5 tapped hole on the same part it lumps both holes together on the table.

After a bit of trial and error, it looks like the only way to do this is to use different hole tables for plain and threaded holes.
You can then format each to show hole diameter and/or thread size.
Use Hole Table Properties > List > List Holes by Origin.
You will then get labels 1.1, 1.2 etc.
Use Notes & Tolerances > Origin/Size to set the prefix for each table.

Unfortunately i have some 40 holes on my component so i usually group them by size/type to keep the hole table to a sensible size say 10 entries. This is no problem until you get different holes that happen to have the same bore size. I never seem to be very successful with hole tables in SE when i have a large number of holes. i am still only running V14 though and thought perhaps this may have been changed in an update

I don't know what options you have in V14, but on V20 there are 6 tabs on the Hole table Properties form.
If you have the same, on the List tab set the option to 'List Holes by Origin'
This will give you a table with 3 columns - Hole ID, X, Y.
Now on the Callout tab, set the callout properties for each hole type in Column1. eg Simple= %DI%HS ; Simple(threaded)= %TS.
Then on the Columns tab add Column1 to the Columns Used.
The table should then show the ID, X, Y and Hole type description.
It may not help with the grouping but you will at least have the correct callouts for each.
