Hello,
I had few questions related to Hinges used for Non-Linear analysis in SAP2000.
There are 3 types of hinges viz. Auto Hinges, Default Hinges and User defined Hinges,

Q1. How does SAP calculates yield moment(My) and Yield rotation(Tita,y) for AUTO and DEFAULT hinges??

Q2. Wat is initial stiffness considered by SAP in calculating yield moment(My) and Yield rotation (Tita,y) for AUTO, USER DEFINED and DEFAULT hinges?? How to check out the method used by SAP to calculate that stiffness??

Q3. Can I directly use xlxs/txt/csv file to define the properties of 'n' number of USER DEFINED HINGES (M3) assigned for 'n/2' number of Beams/Column??

Q4. How does the Yield Moment (My) of hinge defined for a column (P-M2-M3) calculated by SAP??

Advance thanks for replying my queries and will be much appreciated!!!

Regards,
Madhava

You can have a look at Chapter XXIII, of CSI Analysis Reference Manual.
This can be found under the Help menu and the Documentation item.

Analysis and Design of arbitrary cross sections
Reinforcement design to all major codes
Moment Curvature analysis

Thank u johnbridge231 .. But still I am not clear with the details n properties assignments of different hinges..
