I'm doing a project involving highrise core design and was wondering what P/A value is when analysing compressive stress at base of the core

Back-calculate a wall stress capacity from your local design code.

Depending on the slenderness and confinement of the wall, it may be around 20% - 50% of the wall's concrete strength (f'c).

 
This is a bit unsettling. High rise design should be performed by or under the supervision of people who are experts at high rise design.
