Hi all.

What cast material would be used for a valve body in Helium service, temperature up to 350°C, pressure max 90 bar?
We were informed, that under these condition Helium tends to creep through any kind of casted material so only forged material to be used.

Cast grey iron is one of the easiest materials to cast without voids. But, it's still a sieve compared to forged steel or forged brass. Why would you not want to use a forged valve body?

I agree with btreublood.
I´ve seen specs with that conditions using
forged CS gatevalves acc B16.34
