Does anyone have experience w/ or have some really knowledgeable references covering high performance steels? I've done some searches and found some information but I'm always looking for more. One specific question I have is if rolled shapes are produced in these types of steel. Everything I've seen so far has been plates for plate and tub girders.

Also, give some thought to the client's use and familiarity of HPS. If this is a DOT, many do not allow grades above 70ksi. Others will keep deflection criteria that spurns the use of HPS.

ASTM A 709 Gr. HPS 70W and HPS 100W are not available in shapes. You might be able to find some Gr. HPS 50W in shapes, but I haven't heard much about it. My guess is if you did, it would be regular Gr. 50W that happened to meet Gr. HPS 50W requirements.
In general, the higher grades are only useful where the design is governed by strength, not deflection or buckling, and that's not most of the bridge. I've seen Gr. HPS 70W used most often for compression flanges in high-moment areas.
