I would like to heat block of steel 1.7l to around 950C (1700F) with cartridge heaters.

Most cartridge heaters will fail above 700C.

I asked Watlow and they told me their HT Firerod can do 960C but there is a MRQ of 500 units and a 8 week delivery time.

Would anybody know where I could get about 10 cartridge heaters for 950C of +200 W within one week?

Many thanks

Thermcraft? Their website claims to be able to do much higher temperatures:
I don't know whether they can meet your time frame, but they claim that their cartridge heaters are "standard products."
