Thanks very much for the vote of confidence, folks. One more link on instrument transformer basics at: {May need to 'cut and paste' this link to get it to work.} It contains a number of references to ANSI/IEEE C57.13--the principal Instrument Transformer standard in the US.
 
Great references!
I would also recommend a book "INTRODUCTION TO INSTRUMENT TRANSFORMERS" by Brian D. Jenkins and published by George Newnes Ltd. in 1967 (rather old!).
