Hi everybody, I would like to know which CAD software comes close to meeting ASME Y14.41?

I don't know the details but Solid Edge has made strides in this direction.

It's a while since I saw the presentation on it.

We don't currently invoke 14.41 at my place.

IMO, they are all similar. It mostly depends on your settings and how you use it.

I would have to agree with Chris. The way I see it complete implementation of ASME Y14.41 will take a change the way we do business. I for one feel very apprehensive about sending out parametric data to vendors

I agree with Chris. Most CAD systems are able to meet the requirements of Y14.41. That is not to say that they can all support total part definition without a drawing, but the standard does allow for shortcomings in permitting reduced dimension drawings.
As for a drawingless CAD system, I know that progress is being made, but I don't have the personal experience invoking the standard to say just how completely the system I use meets it.

If this is going to go off topic then thread1103-182896 should probably be looked at, I think it in turn references at least one other thread.

From what I've seen few if anyone is truely doing completely MBD. The files still come with extensive readme or similar insctructions on how to interpret them and a lot of time a partial drawing or even just screen shots (which gives me config control nightmares) to clarify ceratiain points.

I'm sure at least some devotees will point out where I'm wrong.

However, this is arguably off topic from the op.
