Hi All,

Can someone point me to a good online source of information on how to interpret Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) test results for transformers?

Although I get lots of (outside contractor supplied) DGA test results from our various plants, none of the reports actually say, in plain english, what the condition of the transformer is. I'm looking for a resource that at least explains what the acceptable ranges are for the various gases that are found in a transformer DGA report.

Many thanks in advance!

That's perfect! Just what I was looking for.
Many Thanks!

Some test labs include statistical ranking of various gas concentrations to simplify evaluation of dielectric-fluid quality.

Hi jbartos,

I had a look at the Delta-X product. It looks VERY interesting. What's approximate costs?

Cheers.

OhioAviator,
I have the ASTM book on how to interpret the DGA of transformers via several different methods. it also includes the Dordenberg Strittmatter nomogragh to access the reliability of the transformer.
Further, in late 2002-2003 the DIES of IEEE had published a very good graph to further refine the Dordenberg Strittmatter graph.
Give me a call.
