Is there a formula for calculating the weight of a hemispherical head?

Rick,
D= diameter of head in feet
Surface area in sq. ft. A=1.571*D^2
t= thickness in inches
Density of steel = 40.8 lbs/in/sq. ft.

weight lbs = A*40.8*t

HTH

Thanks

I have been doing volumetric calculations and just knew there must be a quicker way
