Help with Date Convertion

Hello,

I have problem converting dates from excel file.

I have certain dates whihc I read from excel file in the format
2006-02-19 18:24
2006-02-20 18:24
...
...
...

I am able to read them using xlsread

but when I am starting to convert them to a datenum or datevec it gives an error saying invalid month format

can anyone help me out of this
