Help needed - Newish to solid works

Hi All, (new member here).

Ive been assigned a task to mask a name plate before our paint process.

Id like the 3D print a plate which would follow the text a fit snug over the top.

What is the best way to go about this?

I'm not sure I fully understand, but could you not just use the same sketch and create a separate body of the mask? Or start a new sketch and use the convert entities tool? Or you could you create a seperate body and do a subtract?
